Last year this Slovenian-American all-star cast convened for the first time for ages in Goričko, a beautiful area in the far north-east of Slovenia. Their music melted into the sunset and the landscapes of the vine-covered hills, in anticipation of the first drops from the century-old barrels.
Zoc are embedded in an imaginary tradition, shaking themselves into life through an interplay of sounds that seem to appear at just the right moment to sing an ageless song. Gorgeous, calming music by a sextet of master musicians capable of unifying individual ideas through improvisation.
