It’s so difficult to believe that Rudi Bučar has never played a Druga Godba stage that … it could be that he’s been waiting all this time for a big round number to come along. Over a career spanning 25 years, Slovenian Istria’s most beloved artist has found unique ways of bringing popular music up close to the heritage of that fascinating and often mysterious region.
A bit like those pop songs that always remind you of the good old days, Rudi has preserved the folk in his expression – and brought a little bit of Istria into every Slovenian home, much like Vlado Kreslin has done with Prekmurje. The trio’s intriguing sound is the perfect foil for Rudi’s lyrics, which sing of those things that we would like to sing to others. To 40 more years, for him and for us!
