Druga Godba is delighted to bring to the stage a musical project that it believes produced one of the very best records of 2021.
Mala Mestna Muzika, helmed by composer and pianist Rudi Pančur, takes us on a musical tour along the periphery of Slovenia as we have never heard it before.
Their lovely repertoire, which will feature a number of new elements specially for this appearance, sets some of Vlado Žabot’s poems in the Razkrižje dialect to music. With no little skill, this small, nimble orchestra, fronted by singers Brina Vogelnik and Metod Banko, blends poetry with new music of lyricism and balladry, with dashes of the grotesque and a healthy dose of nostalgia.
A perfect Sunday Druga Godba evening.
