Druga Godba at Ment 

 

Druga Godba is joining forces with Ment Ljubljana for the first time! A festival of music discovery focused on local, regional and European scenes, in 2022 MENT returns to its traditional three-day format with an international conference, which regularly attracts hundreds of professionals from all over Europe. The bill for the Druga Godba stage includes the Slovenian bluesman Niko Novak, Japanese tribal-psych trio KUUNATIC, Belgian jazz fusion act Echoes of Zoo and Irish psychedelic dance music selector DJ Fitz. 

Ment will take place in Ljubljana between 8 and 10 June 2022.

 

 

A lone urban bluesman with a signature baritone, this Slovenian singer-songwriter has been leaving a mark on the local scene for almost 30 years, first as frontman of garage punk outfit Dicky B. Hardy and then as one half of cult duo Incurabili. His catalogue includes a long list of distinctive releases, mostly notably last year’s album Pankow, which cemented his place as the country’s most treasured purveyor of dark, witty, late-night tales of love, hate and everything beyond. Characterised by emotional intensity and mystique, his music is as minimalist as it gets — a powerful mix of sturdy basslines, hoarse vocals and evocative songwriting that pushes hard on your chest.
