Nika Prusnik & bratje Poljanec (SI)

Imagine you’re somewhere deep in the woods and you suddenly come across an abandoned chapel. You hear a heavenly voice accompanied by music that silences even the birds, while the denizens of the forest listen intently to songs that invite connection and honour the unseen. Before you appears a group of young adepts who seek depth through music, baring themselves to us in the full conviction that only they can reach our hearts. In today’s world, that’s already something of a small miracle, and it’s precisely what we’ve been missing in Slovenian music these last few years: contact with the country’s musical heritage, expressed in this case through the narrative poetry of Nika Prusnik and the astute musical sense of the Poljanec brothers.

Skilled in their craft, with their own approach and excellent arrangements, they are no longer promising musicians, but experienced hunters of just the right sound at just the right moment – one that they are expert in shaping into a logical and convincing whole. We can’t tell you how much we’re looking forward to this concert, which will see the group premiere tracks from their debut album, released by the ZKP RTV Slovenija label.
