One ballad, please!

A love of telling stories through ballads is what brings Zvezdana Novaković, singer, harpist and all-round artist, and Urška Centa, flamenco dancer and performing artist, together. The two artists form a strongly expressive duo whose collaboration has given birth to a programme of songs, conversations set to music, dance, rhythm and melody shot through with Slavic character, Balkan and Resian culture, and flamenco. Zvezdana Novaković’s resonant vocals and the swinging sounds of her harp create a strong sonic field of reborn popular traditions through which Urška Centa dances her flamenco, unrestrained and elemental, accompanied by percussion. ‘One ballad for you, one for me,’ is the guiding principle of the conversation and stories of two women who feel the roots of popular art deep within themselves.
