Artist Circulation and Transnational Networks

PUBLIC ROUND TABLE

This roundtable will focus on transnational mobility and how artists circulate throughout Europe. Beginning with an overview of the European jazz and improvised music sector, we will discuss why transnational exposure is critical to artistic development and, through specific case studies of pan-European initiatives, share experiences that highlight artists and showcase their work. The discussion will also focus on the developmental concepts that lead to transnational work, how social networks have increased opportunities, and the importance of industry events in creating context and exposure for artists. Finally, through a dialogue with Jazz Connective delegates, we will share new concepts and ideas for the future exposure and internationalisation of European artists.
