Five new names for Druga Godba 2018

You’ve only got a short time left to buy tickets to this year’s festival at the bargain Early Bird prices, so here are five new names to help you make up your mind: Nadah El Shazly, a Cairo-based musician and producer whose debut, Ahwar, made the Top 12 albums list of none other than The Wire; Les Filles de Illighadad, a superb Tuareg acoustic quartet from Niger; Chromb!, yet another set of stunning talents from Lyon, with a sound somewhere between that of John Zorn and King Crimson; Fumaça Preta, the last word in mischievous tropical psych and among the first contemporary bands to record for the Soundway label; and Olfamoštvo, the first and by no means the last of the Slovenian teams lining up at this year’s festival. All five acts will perform as part of the Ljubljana section of Druga Godba on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 May.

Early Bird tickets are available only until midnight tonight, so hurry along to Moje karte for your festival pass or day ticket.
